Sitting in (g.

Municipality) has committed suicide at the age of 51, a housewife taking a high dose of sleeping pills. Almost seven weeks have passed, i think, the desire to write that i strongly felt at the funeral, to start working without turning into a heavy muteness like the moment i received the news of suicide, i want to write about my mother.

Yes, to get down to business: because although the requirement to write on it my mother from time to time spontaneously appears, it is still so obscure that i will have to force myself to work, not to sit at the typewriter and constantly press the same letter, as i would do in such cases.

” peter handke is deeply affected by the death of his mother, who committed suicide at the age of 51. After a few weeks, she feels the desire to tell her mother about her miserable and unhappy life, about her tiny world.

only then will he relax, complete the task that he must fulfill against his mother, who is saturated with dissatisfaction. "the ""satiety of unhappiness"", one of handke's most important books, is perhaps not written out of his concern for writing, but with the sincere feelings he has for those closest to him." A narrative that deeply affects not only the reader but also the writer.
