Sia Kitap In a Dark Night, I Quietly Left My House - Peter Handke

Product description

Peter handke, one of the most original names of contemporary austrian literature, seems to challenge the reader with his intense and powerful narrative.

i left my quiet house on a dark night, an example of his unusual narrative. In austria, near the city of salzburg, the apothecary of taxham, a settlement isolated from its surroundings, leaves the house one night and embarks on a long journey alone in the plain where the town was founded. The pharmacist, who loses his ability to speak due to a stroke, experiences a surreal adventure in a dystopian world without communicating with anyone except two companions who joined him at a part of the journey and a woman who occasionally enters his life. He tells what he experienced later, when the language is decoded, to a 'printer'. "i left my silent house on a dark night, where reality and surrealism are skillfully blended, and it ruthlessly reveals the loneliness and inner world of today's people, leaving the reader naked in front of a mirror."

a novel loaded with unique descriptions, astonishing facts from the pen of a great master.
