Once the family was not really wealthy or noble, let alone a quiet room or a soundproof room, not to mention having a room of their own, this was the case until the beginning of the nineteenth century. The money given to the man to marry was subject to the goodwill of the girl's father, which was only enough for her, and the girl was even deprived of things that would protect keats tennyson or carlyle, all of whom were poor men. no matter how miserable the girl was from a stroll or a short trip to france, she was from a separate house that protected her from the demands and pressures of her family. Such material difficulties were very scary

but the non-material were far worse. Keats and flaubert and other supremely talented men were barely able to bear the world's indifference to themselves, but when we look at women, this indifference is replaced by hostility. The world did not say 'i don't care about summer if you want' as it said to women and men. The world laughs roughly 'write?' It said. 'what does it do to write?' Virginia woolf's voice reaches us today without losing its power and impact, almost a hundred years after her statement in the room of one's own.
