Sel Yayıncılık Bira Qedere / Sel Yayınları / Mehmed Uzun

Product description

The beer qederê is accompanied by fifteen photographs illustrating the Kurdish leader Bedir-Xan and begins with the theme of death. After the death of Celadet Beg, the photographs that followed him continue to tell a story. His life, which initially was tenuous, occasionally becomes life-affirming and transforms into a colorful and integrated existence. In every place, in every city, in every country, the cosmopolitan Stembola reflects various peoples and individuals within its sphere

it can become the first stage of Celadet’s life. Later, like many natives, he becomes estranged from his home, distancing himself from his country, becoming alienated. The Ottoman Palace and Bab-i Ali, the Galata Tower and Kadikoy Square, World War, the magazine Hawar, and Ronahiya that resonate loudly in Damascus and carry the Kurdish language’s voice to four corners can create one of those photographs and the most significant images of the novel. The entirety of Celadet Beg's life becomes a center of struggle and knowledge, tragedy and love, cutting-edge and resistance.
