Product description

Publisher: say yayınları author: niccolo machiavelli barcode: 9789754688252 edition: 6th edition Printing year may 2018 number of pages 152 binding condition paperback many books called regimine principum have been published in the spirit of rennaissance in the form of advice to princes. But perhaps none has had as shattering an impact as machiavelli's prince. Almost every era has seen intense debates about machiavelli's book, the prince. the moral indifference he describes has stuck like a bad label, even though it doesn't deserve it, and has survived until today. It is also thought-provoking that machiavelli's thoughts, which sometimes support tyranny, are the target. Machiavelli's prince is a concentrated idea of a republic

it is the state itself, standing with one foot in nature and the other in society. It is free in proportion to its dependence on the freedom of its people

but its aim of the common good, even though it owes nothing to the people, is due to its virtue. A prince is not a tyrant

the virtù he possesses paves the way for power, and the laws he enacts ensure the freedom of his country

thus, the glory he gains becomes the glory of his people. He is either the savior who lays the permanent foundations of freedom with the right laws as the first founder of a country

or he is the reformer who opens his own path to power through the complex political relations of the society in decline.

in either case, the fundamental power in his hand is virtù, which will seduce fortune. The translation, made through allan gilbert's english text and enriched with gilbert's footnotes, includes 'a necessity for the infantry' and 'a pastoral: the ideal ruler', texts that complement the book prens.
