Generic Brand Zeytindağı

"zeytindağı, a historical process that freezes one's blood, brings to light the ""collapse of an empire"" in the most vivid turkish of its time. in the book, you will read with amazement how the mehmetçik broke in yemen, aden, canal, gazze, arabian deserts, and even how we left a wagon full of ""mecidiye gold"" after the defeat."

As cemal paşa's order officer, falih rifki, who was closest to him in those days, left a lesson document in our history with his book zeytindağı, each of which could be an epic, the soldiers' diaries and the stories of ahmets and muhmets, who were almost lost at the gambling table, will make your hair stand on end.

"our young people should definitely read the book ""zeytindağı"", which tells about the last periods of the ottoman empire."

-recep tayyip erdogan (president)

"reading this book is truly a debt and a duty."

-behçet kemal çağlar

"the last work of falih rifki, zeytindağı, constituted one of the biggest events of the republic era literature. the era falih rifki reminded us of is the most disastrous, the most terrifying, and the most desecrating era that the turkish nation has experienced and can experience. if the sharp and high intelligence of the writer had not illuminated this era like a bright light, we would not have found the desire and courage to turn our heads towards it and look again."

-yakup kadri karaosmanoğlu

"i happily read zeytindağı. it is impossible to stop once you start. i think that in this new book, the style of falih rifki is more dazzling than his other books, and i think it has reached its most beautiful form. zeytindağı is a solid proof of how powerful a statement can be made with today's turkish."
