Pınar Yayınları Poet of the Istiklal and the Future Mehmet Akif Ersoy

Product description

Mehmet Akif was a true interpreter of the period in which he lived

he was obliged to undertake many duties, realizing that the Ottoman Empire, which was in the process of collapse, lacked a true intellectual cadre.

His personality, his art, his intellectual aspect, his style of struggle, his pioneering a long-running magazine, his being a conversationalist and even his humanity are issues that need to be dealt with on their own.

Âkif is not satisfied with the necessity of fighting against all kinds of imperialism, including cultural imperialism.

He underlines the necessity of not giving passage to bigotry, ignorance, imitation, laziness and wrong understanding of trust.Abdullah Yıldız reminds us of the poet's life, poems, struggle, journalism, character traits, and the vital role he assumed in the War of Independence in his book, The Poet of Independence and Independence Mehmet Akif Ersoy.

At the same time, he touches upon the problems and opportunities of Turkey and the Islamic world.

As we move through the pages of the book, our recent and distant history lies before us within the framework of a poet's life.

Thus, it is very clear why it is necessary to meet in Akif.
