Pınar Yayınları Kızılderili Ruhu ;Native American Life and Faith through the Eyes of an American Native

Product description

Unfortunately, in our historiography of the pre-european settlers of the americas, which we also know as indians, there is an image that mostly appears in the old western films of hollywood cinema: a barbarian and wild, with his face and body painted, attacking the whites with screams on his horse, far from the idea of peace. However, this image has no close relationship with historical facts. The spirit of the native american by ohiyesa, who conveys the tribal life and beliefs in his past with what can be called poetic expressions, presents the true story of the locals.

since its first day of publication, it presents excerpts from the world of the indigenous american peoples, who are composed of more than five hundred tribes, each with different languages, beliefs and rituals, about the work that we know little about, which has been read with great admiration.

it introduces us to a people who live in one of the most remote geographies to us, but who are more closely familiar with our distant past as our neighbors. The native spirit is a kind of lamentation to the native culture, which, despite the influence of the european invaders, has been rapidly disappearing, and also a response to all the white men who despise and degrade their native beliefs.
