Pan Yayıncılık With Love (2 CD ile-Kâni Karaca)

Product description

It is safe to say that the debates about whether islam considers music as haram are as old as islamic history itself. The supporters of these two different opinions interpreted various verses or hadiths in a style that suited their own opinions to prove the accuracy of their thoughts. Thus, this issue has reached dimensions that may never be resolved, acquiring a kind of "philosophical" significance.

Within the historical flow of these discussions, music has always existed and, as in societies with other religious beliefs, a style of music referred to as "religious music" has emerged within muslim communities. despite various forms of resistance, it has maintained its presence.

This work, consisting of two cds and a book, aims to provide examples from our religious music, which is one of the fundamental stones of our cultural structure and developed within the ottoman-turkish islamic lifestyle, while staying outside the discussions we mentioned above, and to briefly introduce the genres of this music. We hope that our humble work, where all religious music styles are presented and exemplified together and explanations are made about their performance forms, will be useful for our reader/listener friends who want to gain general information on this subject.
