Pan Yayıncılık Hamam , Yorgo Valasiadis , , Hamam Book, 312 Pages

Product description

Yorgo valasiadis is torn between a city, a country, and two continents.

the city is istanbul, the country is germany, and the continents are europe and asia.

valasiadis is a rum born in istanbul and has lived in germany for forty years.

he describes his arrival in germany from istanbul at hamam.

the book is filled with tension stories about the problems of the minority and the emigration, identity and adaptation, without first removing the pain, but conveying them in a cool, but humoristic language.

petros markaris...the bath has an impeccable flavor. I would say that it is like amarcord by fellini or cinema paradiso by tornatore, famous italian films that describe the lost homelands of childhood.

I wish someday this book will be adapted for the screen by a talented director. . .
