a magical deck of cards that took 225 years to make! The desire to possess real magical powers is as old as mankind itself.

one of the best-known stories about this fantasy is “der zauberlehrling”, better known as the apprentice of the magician.

written by johann wolfgang von goethe and first published in 1797, the story is timeless.

exactly 225 years later, penguin magic is proud to present the elegant playing card deck as a tribute to the original poem.

the entire deck, designed by douglas fuchs and art directed by kevin reylek, is illustrated in a woodcut style.

the blue and white back design features the wizard's magic book, magical brooms, and of course, the endless water waves.

the design also includes a clearly readable marking system, allowing you to secretly learn the color and value of a card by simply looking at the back! Special faces give the deck a unique vibe, while also being suitable for all applications.

some cards can even do little magic on their own.

the jokers display a broom and a bucket of water that pours out.

a deep shade of red is used in the cup and spades, while dark blue with light blue accents is used in the clubs and hearts.

the front of the box features the magician himself, captivating the entire package.

the box is made of premium matte blue paper, and the inner and outer designs are made with white foil.
