fazıl, a story of infidelity that unfolds between his wife cemile and his lover nazire, is a tale richly analyzed from a psychological perspective. The mechanism of peyami safa literature, which is established with contradictions, is operated even through the names of the characters, taking a position primarily through the official and unofficial relationship and male-female roles. "cemile" carries the meaning of both goodness and beauty, while "nazire" carries the meaning of both a wife, a similar one, and even imitation of the original example. The names carried by the two men in the novel, fazıl and faik, have the same meaning: superior. Nazire also needs to achieve the "superiority" of the other heroes in the novel and pay a price for it. In the novel, which has a fluent and surprising narrative technique, a tragic end awaits the reader on the way to pay this price. Fazıl, who cheated on his wife cemile with nazire, a married woman, narrates his experiences in his own words, struggling with the guilt and shame he feels in the later stages of the novel. In the novel, which also includes letters from the mouths of other characters in places, contradictions have been judged in the style of peyami safa. The novel, which has a fluent plot and narrative technique, manages to leave its readers under its spell with its surprising ending. This novel, which was first printed with latin letters and reached its readers, will also reveal the superior literary abilities of peyami safa and the stages he has reached in his novel writing.
