Product description

Faust was born as a villain hero who is fond of worldly pleasures and is entangled in the magic of a classic german folk tale. he has been extremely successful in the fertile and transformative valley of literature, but he is not satisfied with his life, so he made a deal with the devil and turned into a tragic scholar who traded his soul for unlimited knowledge.

the legend of faust has been the basis for many works of literature, art, cinema and music, which have been reinterpreting it throughout the ages.

the adjective faust and faustyen implies a situation in which an ambitious person abandons moral integrity in order to gain power and success for a certain period.

The story became popular in a classic way by christopher marlowe in his play the tragical history of doctor faustus in england, and two hundred years later, in the hands of goethe, it transformed into a universal epic of an unsatisfied intellectual who pushes the limits of his tragedy with his ultimate spiritual liberation.

The famous faust interpreter erich trunz has summarized goethe's work very well in this context: 'faust has a longing to surpass the limits of his own self. However, this longing does not lead him to the religious sphere he originally desired, but on the contrary, hastens, takes wrong steps, confuses the lofty and the humble, and thus deviates even more deeply into the worldly. For this very reason, faust's helplessness becomes particularly felt where he tries to reach the superhuman.

actually, his lawlessness and consequent helplessness have led him to satanize. This is the issue that determines the entire drama surrounding faust's death.
