Nika Yayınevi History of Social Services in Turkey

Product description

This book is the result of a monographic study that examines both the historical development of social services, how they are conceptually defined and what they encompass, and how this conceptualization and scope have evolved in turkey from an economic policy perspective.

This narrative, which focuses on the past that shapes the present, is the result of an effort to make the relationship between social services and labor visible, where the center of gravity of labor is placed, and those who are outside the working life are evaluated based on this center. The source of this effort is the realization that the connection between social services and employment has been lost and needs to be re-established. On the other hand, thinking about social work alongside working relationships inevitably requires touching upon the field of politics and social policy. This approach not only enables us to understand the development trajectory of social services in turkey, but also reveals the fluid role of social services within the social, political, and economic context.
