Summary: ali nesin says he prepared the compilation of mathematics and reality in your hands for those who say, "i don't understand mathematics, but i still want to learn what mathematics is and what it is not."

In this book, you will find mathematical writings that inevitably have a philosophical flavor, examining the relationship between mathematics and reality, concrete and abstract, theory and practice, truth and provability, the problems brought by the concept of infinity, the meaning of existence, and the limits of mathematics. Typically, the level of writing will increase with the number of pages (though not always), and the book will gradually become more technical. The reader can skip the texts they don't understand on the first reading and return to them later.

i did not go into the depth that the subject deserved, so as not to raise the mathematical level too much. You can find more in-depth and satisfying mathematical writing in my books, "set theory" and "the construction of numbers." In this thematic compilation by ali nesin, you will be able to find his writings, which are scattered in his other books, in accordance with the framework mentioned above.
