Product description

The thousand-year-old classic of japanese culture is now in turkish. Like all true literary classics, yastıkname is a book with a unique style that has a lot to say even today. Sei shonagon, the empress's maid of honor at the palace, kept a "book" by her bedside where she jotted down everything that came to mind: the small, ordinary events she witnessed, her memories, and her thoughts on matters she deemed important. ...things that you find pleasing or irritating, amazing or depressing, heart-fluttering or mood-killing, "annoying" or admirable. . . Shonagon possesses a unique flair and observational skill. his ability to capture the incredibly specific details of recorded events, and to stamp them with a free-spirited, feminine individuality, is why he continues to captivate us centuries later. Pillow talk was translated into turkish by the joint efforts of 83 translators from the book translators initiative. This joint initiative, a world first, also symbolizes the book translators' coming together as a professional union. Translators serve as bridges between unfamiliar languages and cultures. This time, it's the same: a distant country and a distant past are now closer to us thanks to them...
