Isbn: 9789753421362 Author: murathan mungan Publisher: metis publications Language: turkish Binding: paperback Summary: childhood, close relatives, mardin, books, loves, old photos. . . Murathan mungan's autobiography, the demons of money, is formed by the combination of ten texts written between 1988-96. A special book by the mungan works, which points to the biographical origins, as well as the heartfelt language, sharing the reader feeling very close to itself. . . On the back cover of the book, mungan says: “those photos convey to us the times when we were not. Our relatives we don't know. Those who left without waiting for us. What we experience is real, what they experience is like a fairy tale. Their postures, poses, looks, smiles, clothes, jewelry, tops are the other things that enchant us. The details of the places where these photographs were taken both open doors to an unknown past for us and appear to be special markings touching the mystery of death. Photographs document lost moments. Lost moments are the shortest way between time and death. Of course, we cannot name it like that at that age, but we experience it deeply as an emotion, as an intuition. As we grow up, those photos acquire new meanings and new dates. Some old story particles gain brand-new meanings in the light of new insights

Or what we didn't know before, what we just heard, or what we were only allowed to learn now, combined with some new information, such as the broken pieces dug out from the earth, are added together to make the body whole, thus gaining a brand new appearance, a brand new existence. The same photos change secrets before our eyes. The stories deepen. The haze and light swap over the same shades. Those who cannot protect their eyes will not have photos to look at over time. I think we need to protect our eyes as much as our albums."
