Metis Yayıncılık Examination Days

Product description

What exactly do about half of all people know about the menstrual process that they have experienced hundreds of times throughout their lives? Why are the things we know so limited and ambiguous? Drawing on these questions, biological anthropologist kate clancy examines menstruation, which is still hush-hush and sought to be hidden in many societies today, both biologically and in social and cultural terms.

what is menstruation and how does it occur? What contribution has it made to mankind in the process of evolution? "is there such a thing as a ""normal menstrual cycle""?" How do the body's energy mechanism, immune system and psychosocial stress factors affect the menstrual cycle? What innovations and perspectives can the future bring to menstruation? "clancy, who sees menstruation not as an individual experience but as a social issue, says: ""i hope you read this book with as much enthusiasm as i wrote it, enjoy what you learn about the fertility of the uterus and the ability to adapt, and at least begin to have some respect for menstruation and menstrual repair."

i hope you see how intricate the connections between power, social gender, and race are when it comes to unearthing menstrual taboos.

i wish that what i have written will offer a fertile ground for new ideas to emerge about what the world might be like if we fought for bodily autonomy and dreamed of radical futures.
