Metis Yayıncılık Bildiğimiz Dünyanın Sonu / Immanuel Wallerstein

Product description

In more than one hundred and fifty years since the writing of marx and engels manifesto, the relationship of marxists with “capitalist crisis”, “there is a wolf!” It was like the story of the shepherd who shouted. That giant, shocking and paralyzing crisis is never coming. Marxists do not give up thinking that each temporary, partial crisis is expected to be the final crisis. Wallerstein's "end of the world as we know it" perspective doesn't view life as a pre-determined script, but rather as a situation where "there's a wolf!" Not to scream: wallerstein, who emphasizes that the "world capitalism" that existed only conceptually until the end of the twentieth century turned into a practical phenomenon with the end of the bipolar world, says that this transformation is the end of the capitalist world we know and recognize. This is also the end of the world of knowledge, whose forms of perception and understanding of the world that existed until now, with the rise of capitalism, have established dominance over metaphysical understandings, that is, the understanding of science based on newtonian physics. 21. Wallerstein, who says that the first decades of the century will be a scene where this overturn occurs in both senses, draws attention to the fact that this overturn is looming as an uncertainty: an uncertainty with dangers and opportunities. . . This is a future that will be shaped by the conditions of this uncertain period, but also by what we really want, the direction we make our choices, and our creativity. . . It calls on all of us to think in a systematic and open way about what could happen and what we really want. ?promotional text
