Product description

“this secret teaching about our art is of extreme importance to our clan and should only be given to one person in each generation. Do not give this book to someone who does not have talent in the arts, even if it is your child.

zeami-the founder of the japanese art “noh”, which appeared in the 14th century and is still performed today, wrote more than ten plays, as well as many theses for noh actors.

Among the most important works he wrote and which he published between the years 1400 and 1418, the spirit of the flower was primarily kept secret only by zeami's theatrical troupe, passed down from generation to generation, but it was revealed in the 19th century. Accepted as a handbook for noh actors after the century.

In the spirit of the flower, which also had a significant impact on akira kurosawa's directorial style, zeami, who benefited from extensive education on zen buddhism, classical japanese literature, and aristocratic lifestyle, explains the principles of noh theater, which emerged for the samurai class and reflects the principles of most martial arts, and examines how an artist should live.
