Pyotr andreyevich, the only son of an aristocratic family, is enrolled in the army as an officer at the request of his father.

He begins to serve in a fortress in a remote corner of the country.

During his military service, he experiences a conflict between his love for the commander's daughter and the tasks he must fulfill in the peasant uprising that swept the country.

He will never bring the banner of courage and honor to the ground in this conflict.

This novel, which describes war and love on a historical ground and with its nudity, has played a pioneering role in world literature and has influenced many great writers.

"all our novels and big stories seem bland when compared to the girl of the platoon.

Purity softness reaches such a height that even the real in this work seems to be faked and caricatured.

First of all, indeed russian characters come out.

Simple commander of the castle wife is the flagman With its only ball the castle itself the confusion of time ordinary people its humble greatness.

All this is not only real, but something beyond it.
