This study aims to explain the use of sexual assaults against women as a military strategy in wartime through the example of the Bosnian War.
The main research question of the study is how sexual violence was used as a strategic tool of war in the Bosnian War. In line with this main question, the study seeks to answer the sub-questions of how women's bodies were used by the Serbs for ethnic cleansing against Bosniaks and what kind of security threats women were exposed to during and after the war.
