Kronik Kitap Osmanlı Toplumunda Aile

Product description

The largest photo of the ottoman family. The 'family' is one of the most conservative, least changing institutions of a society, and now it is changing in this century. because of this change, there is no subject that requires as much historical research as the 'family' institution. Therefore, it was necessary to re-examine my articles that i wrote on family structure in the ottoman society, which were approved, to research new material and to fit it into the social and legal framework such as the 'nation' system and 'romanization in law'. It is impossible to understand the evolution of family law in the last 150 years without this. Therefore, i deemed it necessary to undertake this study, which examines the development of the ottoman family within its legal and social framework from the 15th to the 16th centuries until today. The position of the family, one of our dark fundamental institutions, in the ottoman empire, is evaluated from the pen of ilber ortayli.

It interprets topics such as the responsibilities of spouses towards each other, family law, child upbringing, the state's approach to muslim and non-muslim families, inheritance, polygamy, ancestral inheritance, and harem, which are often discussed without proper knowledge, with first-hand sources. Family in the ottoman society is an ideal work not only for historians and researchers, but also for everyone who is curious about life in the ottoman empire and wants to be equipped with solid information.
