New series of thinking classics from kori̇dor publications - 1 timeless thinking classic with the translation of utopia tuncay bi̇rkan &quot

Most of the kings are keen on martial arts rather than the art of keeping peace. Usually, their only concern is what to do and how to gain new kingdoms, not managing well what they already have.

&quot

Utopia, published in 1516 by the renaissance man and humanist thomas more, is the first example of its kind, immortalizing the name of the genre.

"inspired by numerous sources from antiquity and the middle ages, along with plato's ""the republic"", this work, in which more invented the word ""utopia"", meaning both ""no-place"" and ""happy-place"", has influenced many books in the utopia and dystopia genres in the centuries that followed, and has become an indispensable reference for discussions on ideal society and state perceptions." More's "playful seriousness" has always left readers and critics in a dilemma, as he established a utopia between reality and fiction, philosophical ideal and political criticism

the work has been seen as either a prototype of a totalitarian regime or a revolutionary management model.

Tuncay birkan's expert translation, drawing on three different editions, with its rich footnotes and appendices, and its comprehensive and critical "afterword" that illuminates birkan's work's intellectual journey and relevance, allows us to read this important philosophy and literature classic with a new perspective.
