Product description

The protagonist of gogol's story, "the coat," is akaki akakievich, a forgetful civil servant who finds no joy in life beyond his job. Despite being the subject of ridicule by his surroundings, he leads a calm and peaceful life. In the harsh winters of russia, he can neither protect himself from the cold with his shabby coat nor afford to buy a new one. When he can put his life on the line and save enough money, he is unaware of what will happen to the coat he dreams of. In the story called "the nose," it is about a man who wakes up one ordinary day and finds that he cannot find his nose in its usual place, and he pursues it with great seriousness.

gogol, who brings the reader into this quest while blending the corrupt order of bureaucracy with fantastic elements, becomes the voice of the silenced masses who struggle against poverty, exclusion, and the hardships of social life. Written with sharp irony and keen observation, and emphasizing its importance with the phrase "we all came out of gogol's coat," we present this work by dostoyevsky with uğur büke's meticulous translation.
