Product description

Omar el hamzavi, who lived in the dream of being an idealist revolutionary and poet in his youth and became a famous and rich lawyer after the revolution, wakes up one day to a desolate life.

whatever he does now is unhappy, worse, desperate. "as the days go by and omar, who is starting to distance himself from his family and his job, finds treatment for his ""illness"", it is love games." However, these games will not solve the depression he/she is lost in. As he gradually begins to alienate everything and even himself, life is preparing new surprises for him. "now, his wife, whom he ""doesn't love"" anymore, is pregnant with their third child, and the problems that omar needs to face multiply even more when his former trial partner, who did not give him up when he was arrested years ago, is released twenty years later." Omar will return to a beggar in search of love, peace, happiness... omar is actually like a symbol of an entire society.

The master writer necib mahfuz, with his powerful apocalyptic narrative, takes the reader into the inner world of omar, while addressing the reality-idealism, science-art-belief conflicts in the country after the 1952 revolution in egypt, and the despair of society seeking an exit to all this.
