“whenever these two feelings (hope and fear) come together in the heart, allah gives him what he hopes for and protects him from what he fears.

” (hadis-i sharif)the greatest work of the imam-ı gazâlî, the ihyau ulûmi’d-din, has been the first source of reference for muslims in every period and this work has been held in great trust. We are now presenting this guide, a great work that has not been out of the hands of muslims for centuries and has been standing at the forefront of their ranks, in a brand new format. Each of the subjects contained in the work was translated and brought into being on its own, using fluent and clear language, without ever losing the original narrative. İhyau ulûmi'd-din consists of four main sections, and each section consists of ten topics. "the third subject of the fourth section, the munca, is about ""hope and fear""."

the imam-ı gazâlî says: “hope and fear are the two wings with which servants, having obtained closeness to allah, fly to the stations extolled by themselves.

with him, two means by which all the difficult hills on the road to eternity are overcome. A person who offers with enthusiasm cannot reach the blessings of the heavens, which are surrounded by things that hearts will not like and that will cause distress to the poor, unless they are close to rahman and their burden is heavy.

it can not but scare away man from hell fire, pathetic misery, surrounded by all kinds of lust and appetizing delicacies, from whipping lashes and violent denigration.

then it is necessary to explain the truth and vice of hope and fear, and the way to unite them, together with their contrast and conflict.
