The lebanese writer, mihail nuayme, one of the most important names in modern arabic literature, promises a metaphysical encounter in the man who finds himself, a novel that has been translated into many languages and is loved. The life of arkay, who tries to discover the secret of the essence of existence not by speaking but by remaining silent, forces the person to look inward.

the rear seldom speaks to people.

he is alone or feels like it.

a strange person with manners that need to be unraveled and understood. In an arab coffee house in new york, it serves countless people every day

it is intertwined with them, but quiet and far away from them.

he lives in a dark and small room, but he's far from himself. The scope and power of thought and imagination are quite extensive.

he analyzes people who are far away even though he lives in them.

some concepts, such as “freedom” and “death”, hold great value for him.

to know the unknown he wants is to forget that he knows. The reader is faced with two friends in these lines.

one insists on silence to contact the divine world and live there, the other tries to tear the veil to return to the crowds of people.

just when he's about to understand one, the other comes to life, and then both disappear. But finally, the friend solves this riddle and saves the reader from curiosity.
