The european framework of common recommendations for languages was used as the basis for the preparation of this book series. Accordingly, five textbooks were prepared, categorized as a1-a2 (basic level), b1-b2 (intermediate level), and c1+ (advanced level), and in addition, five workbooks were created for each level to reinforce the material learned. In our book series, we employed a blended approach, combining a communicative approach with intercultural approaches, an action-oriented approach, a constructivist approach, direct methods, and the audio-lingual method. Furthermore, specific teaching principles were also taken into account. Another feature of our “a journey into turkish” book series is its thematic approach. Therefore, each book contains eight units, presented as headings, and each unit contains two topics. The c1 textbook was prepared in a different format, consisting of ten units, and also incorporates the learning objectives of the c2 level, distinguishing it from the other four textbooks. Language teaching is certainly not the same as grammar instruction. However, grammar instruction is an important tool and guide in language teaching and learning. Therefore, our book series includes grammar lessons in each unit and section. Instead of directly providing memorized information in language instruction, a teaching method was developed that uses example texts and sentences. In the presentation of grammar topics, the principle of gradual progression was followed, with the topics arranged in a logical order from simple to complex, and from easy to difficult. In the introductory section of our book, a1, you will find the “basic information” unit. This unit covers a range of topics you will need, including the turkish alphabet, colors, seasons, months, days, weather, common phrases used in everyday life, and basic tenses.
