summary:In this book, titled "we, the professors," i̇lhan arsel wrote to expose the intellectual and personal inadequacies of universities and their teaching staff to the public. In 1977, while resigning from university, he said: "we, the academic staff, are undoubtedly very good people, but many of us are inadequate and ignorant individuals.

our narrow-mindedness and retention remain outside of any definition. We are far from maturity in raising a university student in the contemporary sense

we see every day how the people we raise with low knowledge and mentality are causing trouble to this society. Those who bring our country a little closer to the brink every day are also the ones we raised. It is definitely our responsibility to tidy up ourselves, to equip ourselves with broad perspectives and true information.

and most importantly, to be the ideal example for society and the new generations as people with civil courage and strong character, to provide role models. In short, it is our condition to do what is worthy of virtuous people, to put our minds to work. That's why we must be placed in the most unjust, the harshest, and even the most exaggerated forms, wait for the needle to be plunged into ourselves before we plunge the needle into others, and crown those who eat us. The moment we accept these rejections, these setbacks, and decide to stick with it, we consider ourselves to have taken the first step towards a positive outcome.
