Isbn: 9786055257057 Author: sevinç çokum Sevinç çokum looks at the balkan geography as if yahya kemal had written it. In this text, which is the second novel of his writing life, çokum tells a migration story. This migration is a forced migration that we actually know very closely. Of course, the exodus: the great sadness of all migrations is conveyed through the various members of a family forced to leave the balkans, which the ottoman empire had lost. On the one hand, there are endless hardships and difficult journeys, the deep sorrow of leaving one's homeland

on the other hand, there is prudence, stubbornness, anger, and insincerity. The most distinctive feeling of our land must be this docking. This migration, which ended in istanbul, everyone may have experienced elsewhere at different times and eventually settled. But always with that stubbornness. And of course with a memory that is "never to be forgotten" even if it passes. "which one should i tell? At night searchlights lick the land. Explosions, flames, soldiers dying silently... wounded soldiers groaning... this is a test, mother. We are learning ourselves here. We learn that we have the right to live, our enemy... phones... the comings and goings of airplanes... there's no time to gaze at the day's glimmers on the water or the stars at night. Herbs, moist insects, birds stop singing. The trenches are barbed lines... one of the soldiers picked figs and brought them. They read nursery rhymes at night. We have been trying to unite like this for years. Reassembled. We are reborn."
