Kafka Yayınevi The Risk of Reading: Edebiyat Kendimizi ve Dünyamızı Anlamamıza Nasıl Yardım Eder?

Product description

We live in a relationship based on dialogue with ourselves and others, with our own stories and the stories of others, with the aim of creating a life story.

Alasdair macintyre said, “what shall i do? In order to answer the question, i first need to respond to this question: 'which story or stories do i see myself as a part of?' The risk of reading is an argument for the idea that deeply, closely reading literature can help us understand ourselves and the world around us.

"waxler, who suggests that modern life can be made more meaningful in many ways through the in-depth reading of qualified works, emphasizes that we need ""fiction"" to understand our so-called ""real life"" with this book, highlighting the importance of reading fiction in building a humane and democratic society."

"the author, who emphasizes that people are ""linguistic beings"", analyzes many texts from the creation cult in sacred texts to frankenstein, from the fighting club to the old man and the sea, and is seeking a unique doorway that will make us reflect on our mortality."
