Kabalcı Yayınevi Genovefa Story

Product description

Since the history of turkish literature focuses on the texts with arabic script, karamanlıca texts have remained outside the scope of academic and popular interest for many years.

interest in this topic begins only in the last quarter of the 20th century. This book aims to appeal to the reader base of all ages who are interested in the subject, as it includes the translation of the world-famous classic, the story of genoveva, into karamanlıca and turkish. The popularity of the genoveva story, which is based on an original medieval legend, has not only been limited to literature

it has spread to painting, sculpture, music, opera, cinema, and ceramics. While the tremendous fame of genovefa in world literature resonates in pre-republican turkish literature, this resonance leaves its place to deep silence in post-republican turkish literature.

The book in your hands, despite being a world-famous narrative, has not found a place in post-republican turkish literature. this silent fame owner, whose name is not even remembered, should be seen as a humble step to gain its popularity in pre-republican turkish literature and contribute to its place in contemporary turkish literature.
