Product description

This book discusses the constitutional history of Turkey.

Constitutions from the First Constitutional Monarchy in 1876 to the present day are analyzed in the context of the socio-economic processes behind them.

According to Dr.

Doğu Perinçek, it is possible to divide Turkey's 170-year period of national democratic revolution into five processes and two resistances: 1) 1838-1908: Tanzimat process, 2) 1908-1945: Revolution process, 3) 1945-1980: Little America process, 4) 1980-2007: Counterrevolution process, 5) Since March 2014, we have been experiencing a process of Homeland War Two resistances: - Resistance to Tanzimat: 1876 Constitutional Monarchy and - Resistance to the Little America process: The May 27, 1960 Revolution. The book also examines the new constitutional initiatives that the AK Party has brought to Turkey's agenda since 2004, which were prevented by the resistance of national forces, and presents the draft constitution of the National Revolutionary Republic to the reader. The book, which also evaluates the Presidential Government System introduced by the AK Party in 2017, will also shed light on today's constitutional debates.

"The constitution is at the end of the barrel."

"This is true for all constitutions of the world."

Making a constitution means rebuilding and reorganizing the state.
