Product description

Serhat celikel, whose books color time in 2009, window in 2012, and land of the blind under snow were published in 2016, is in front of the reader with his second novel. Table, flag, chair is a story of friendship. The protagonist and narrator of the novel, burak, his housemates ece, cemil, and yasemin, who later joined both their homes and each other, their constant state of self-discovery and everything on earth moving on, form the fundamental stones of this story. "the ""evaporateness"" shared throughout the novel represents the sentence that burak repeats at intervals: ""i don't harm anyone, i guess i don't have a purpose in this world." While çelikel is telling the small events that occur in the lives of four university students season by season, he first includes these unusual events that disrupt the usual flow, and then incorporates them into the process of the novel's existence. These stops are proof that the novel is more than a story of friendship. 'he expected them to imitate him, but after they made fun of him and laughed at him with a move he made when even jasmine, who had just joined them, tied her hair on top, they moved on to other absurdities. If he were to imitate himself, what kind of move would it be?he couldn't think of anything. He thought about a gesture, a word, an expression on his face that he used all the time, but he couldn't come up with anything like that. Sometimes, he thought that no matter how the other person spoke or acted, he immediately followed suit, saying things like the other person and making similar gestures, but he didn't mind it. There must have been something that distinguished burak from the others, an interesting side, something unique to him. He thought, 'no.' ‘in this life, i have no purpose at all.”’ (from the newsletter)
