İthaki Yayınları Letter to Mir

Product description

Is the Letter to Mir about Ehmede Xani? On the surface... What is the appearance? An adult male, a lover, a writer, a thinker. A death, or rather a form of death, where (from whom) and how the poison came, a letter (Ehmede Xanî's letter) that has become unreadable, to whom and to whom was it written? Ostensibly to Mir, that is, to power, what is power? Let us turn to Foucault: "In reality, however, power means relations, a set of relations more or less organized, coordinated like a pyramid..." Throughout the novel, Jan Dost asks, "Is illegibility a fate? Is it a twist of fate?" This anti-biographical novel of the passage of time opens Ehmede Xanî to discussion through Foucault's concept of parrhesia in his book Telling the Truth. Was Xanî killed because he spoke and wrote the truth, the truth? Maybe... How far can we go with a letter whose important parts have been erased? Jan Dost will no doubt say, "Nowhere!" I mentioned in passing that Letter to Mir is a love novel, and I'll add it now while I have the chance: Yes, there is love, yes there is eroticism, yes there is the bloody power of the mind, yes there are words, yes ink falls from the sky, yes, there are other, other things to underline about this multi-layered work...
