Product description

George orwell was at a critical point in his political thoughts while living among the anti-stalinist militias in spain during the resistance against general franco.

"although it was commercially unsuccessful when published, ""interestingly, this entire experience made me believe in the goodness of humanity, not less, but rather more."" when it was published, it became a classic that should be read when the spanish civil war is mentioned today. he said that he lived in barcelona and described the events that made him believe in the goodness of humanity, not less, but rather more." When george orwell went to spain in 1936, he planned to report on the civil war, but when he found himself there, he joined the republicans against general franco.

After that period, every serious work written by orwell, directly or indirectly, is against totalitariyanizm, next to democratic socialism. in this resistance that ends with defeat, he explains what he personally experienced in catalonia, a greeting to the hopes, betrayal, and nature of the life of a riot. it is an important historical document about the life of a militia.

“the best work of orwell, perhaps the best book about the spanish civil war. "a book that once read, will never be forgotten - ""the new yorker""."
