Product description

Chinua achebe, the greatest name in african literature, is one of the rare writers who, despite telling a local story with his novels written in a realistic style and mostly about the colonization of africa by the west, manages to address universal issues with the characters and plots he creates. "achebe's fourth novel, ""the voice of the people"", which was awarded the man booker international prize in 2007 for its contributions to world literature, is a striking work describing a corrupt democracy."

minister of culture, former teacher m.

nanga is a recognized full-fledged public figure, but he is also a cunning opportunist. When his former student odili visits nanga, he is disappointed and gets involved in politics. Odili's idealism will eventually clash with his desires, and the competition between teacher and student will plunge their countries into chaos. The people's man, published days before nigeria's first attempted military coup, is a novel by chinua achebe that serves as a warning of incompetent governance and a desperate people.

achebe has shown that a mind capable of clear observation but also of deep feelings that make you laugh can be more virtuous than all politicians and journalists.

”-time” is a satire work that is as funny as it is painful... it is most likely the best novel coming from west africa.
