Product description

The events in the novel, which is considered one of the author's masterpieces along with the three musketeers, take place in france, italy and some mediterranean islands in the years 1815-1839. The events are given by an all-knower, an all-seer, and an all-present narrator. The novel is about edmond dantés, who was imprisoned in an unjust trap set by his enemies, and after fourteen years of confinement, seeks revenge from those who caused his disaster.

the plot develops around the monte cristo count - edmond dantés, novel characters morrel, mercédes, villefort, caderousse, fernand and their children. The novel, which has been translated into many languages and influenced many writers in world literature, also provides some small clues about the perception of turks in europe at that time. The name of tepedelenli ali paşa, who once made the ottoman empire quite busy, is frequently mentioned in the novel. The translation of the work into turkish, which started in 1871 by teodor kasap, was completed in three years with the help of about thirty people. Ahmet mithat, who contributed to the translation of the work, is thought to have been inspired by the count of monte cristo novel in his work named hasan mellah (1874).
