mirsky's preface and postscript, with the author and the chronology of the era,a hero of our time is a bright gift to the world literature of a passionate writer who lost his life in a duel at a young age. Our time's hero tells the story of young and handsome officer grigoriy aleksandrovich pecheulin. This hero, who is not afraid to offend with the arrogance of his wealth, approaches life with a mocking indifference, far from sincerity, although he is aware of his abusive feelings, he does not feel any discomfort or remorse.

virtually evil for pleasure, efforts for the unhappiness of others. The only novel of lermontov, a hero of our time with the unforgettable character of peçorin, is today counted among the masterpieces of world literature.

the novel, which inspired the generation of russian novelists of the nineteenth century with his psychological resolutions, is somehow deeply addressing the clash of goodness with evil, innocence with contamination.

“in russia, no prose has ever been written so perfect, so beautiful, so subtle.
