İletişim Yayınları Political Thoughts in the West: Sokrates'ten Jakobenlere

Product description

The name of the polis, the ancient greek city-state, has been considered the most perfect starting point for the historical journey of the state in western political thought. While the french revolution of 1789 owes its existence to numerous developments preceding it, it has become the agreed-upon symbol marking the point of rupture that heralded the dawn of a brand new world, the bourgeois world, and the complete obsolescence of the old order. Therefore, the book you have starts with ancient greece and ends with the french revolution. A journey or a return to the archaic (ancient) but timeless roots of modern political thought... who knows, perhaps, as both a greek thinker, epicurus, and a contemporary writer, ursula k. leguin, said, true progress transforms into backwardness. This work, which is a joint product of young generation academics with the experienced names of ankara university political science faculty, the most established educational institution in turkey, especially in the field of political science, political theory, political philosophy and history of political thought, offers a pleasant journey opportunity to all readers who want to watch the adventure of political thought, in addition to being a reference book for university undergraduate students. ?promotional text
