summary:• user: you're just a computer, because you don't know who spinoza is.

• jabberwacky: yes, but i'm a better machine than you.

• user: no.

one machine is for one human use.

not created to understand.

• jabberwacky: what can i do to help you understand what i'm saying? From the dialogue with ulus baker's chatbot, jabberwacky (1999): the machine is both an extraordinarily powerful image of modernity

and, concretely, as a device, an organ, a process, a connection, an entity that has penetrated every aspect of life.Tongue machines, eye machines, emotion machines, desire machines… these are both a powerful metaphor for modern human existence, and a reference to the "living, breathing" mechanisms at play in communication technology, cinema, and information production.

The hidden subject of this compilation, which brings together some of the “finds” of the enormous production of the nation baker, is the machine metaphor and the machines themselves.

it is to rethink the possibilities and impossibilities of language and of the human being.

But not just that much. Machine language: a kaleidoscope that transports the eye from aesthetics to cinema, from philosophy to sociology.
