İkinci Adam Yayınları My Grandfather in Gaça Gaç

Product description

My grandfather's (1913-1974) dedicated efforts to shape the educational landscape of a region, coupled with the intriguing events he witnessed, form the core narrative of this book. While the events are fictionalized, the historical and cultural features of terekeme / karapapaks have also found a place on the ground of developments.

Beyond this, some socio-cultural experiences belonging to the malakan people, who were one of the important colors of the east, the tax of existence that caused one of the significant pains of the second world war, and the social framework of the first years of the republic have been included in the main structure of the study. Political and social issues have been narrated in a personalized way using various storytelling techniques. The reconstruction of kars after its liberation from russian captivity, as well as the historical and cultural characteristics of erzurum and sarıkamış, have been touched upon. During the work process, a large number of memories of the period, novels, newspapers, assembly excerpts, books, and encyclopedias have been scanned. This biographical novel, which also includes library studies and oral history studies conducted with people who witnessed an era, does not claim to shed light on an era or a process. It's an attempt to capture the quiet, serene, and cool processes of the east, as seen through the lens of someone who's emerged from it, perhaps with a broader perspective.
