The original set, presented at the first world fair in london in 1851, was purchased by queen victoria. This set, which required the superior skills and expertise of the royal court painters, was later named after queen victoria, as it was painted under the influence of chinese motifs. Everything is handmade... herend is not just porcelain. Traditional methods are used in the production of herend porcelains. The only thing that utilizes technology in the factory's operation is the heating methods of the ovens. The mixture of lead and raw materials found in porcelain is equally important. The whiteness, transparency, and clarity in porcelain are achieved through this blend. There are 2000 painters working in herend, which is entirely handmade.

painters take full advantage of daylight when rendering figures.

painters can only be authorized to sign under their figures if they are “chief painters”. In addition to these, herend customers have the opportunity to have any lost or broken part of any product they have received from herend's production, by placing an order to herend. Another feature of herend is its decorations, which are particularly inspired by nature.

its decorations include special birds, flowers with meaning (such as lotus, peony and indian flowers), nevats, butterflies, waterfalls, shepherds and chinese patterns. The price differences of herend porcelains vary depending on the weight and abundance of the decorations on them.
