Product description

"the stories ivan turgenev collected under the name ""hunter's notes"" are his first significant prose work, which will gain great fame with novels such as ""first love"", ""pre-revolution"" and ""fathers and sons"" in 19th century europe."

the hunter ' s notes consist of stories that the author observed during hunting trips in the oryol region, describing the nobles, landowners, poor peasants, village doctors and life in the mansions. After the publication of these stories, which were heralds of turgenyev's later major works, the author was arrested, spent a month in prison in petersburg, and received a sentence of compulsory residence in spasskoye for 18 months.

the cause of this persecution was the cruel conduct of the landowners towards the serfs and criticism of the serfdom institution.
