Gülas Dokuma Hexagonal Multiplier Woven Cards 25 Pack

Product description

What is multiplier weaving? It is a traditional weaving type known as the origin of central anatolia. It is a weaving technique that involves threading threads through holes drilled in a hexagonal shape and each corner is lettered. The weaving process with the loom is carried out by threading the warp threads and tensioning them, then rotating the warp threads around themselves, creating a nozzle between the warp threads, and tightening them by threading the weft threads.

the pattern in the wefting of the multiplier appears according to the movement system of the multipliers, along with the warp yarns passed according to the wefting report. In other words, according to the same pattern report, different movements made by multipliers with warp threads can produce an infinite number of patterns that can be called endless. Therefore, knowing the movement systems of the multipliers allows the weaver to obtain different patterns with the same warp threads. Weaving with a loom is a weaving technique that offers freedom of movement to the weaver, and is open to various applications in this aspect.

what is the weaver tack used for? Products obtained by the multiplication weaving technique are used in many areas. It is produced for use as well as being primarily decorative and ornamental items such as belts, bag handles, keychains, bracelets etc.

most often, the materials used in this weaving technique are cotton and wool.

on rare occasions, silk has also been used. This handicraft product, which has now surpassed the anatolian continent, has started to gain popularity in european countries as well, and it continues to be touched upon by adding new and modern techniques and tools. Despite this, it is said that this technique is gradually being forgotten by those who are interested in handicrafts.

there are also volunteer organizations that want young people to show interest in such traditional arts. However, it is still stated that it is not enough and that it should be included in formal education.
