Felix Kitap Gulag Takımadaları Volume 1

Product description

The gulag archipelago is a written historical record kept by soljenitsyn's efforts, which describes the detentions that began shortly after the bolsheviks came to power in russia in 1917, the prisons where the prisoners were placed, the labor camps where they were forced to work, and the millions of lives destroyed. This system reached extraordinary dimensions during stalin's rule from 1924 to 1953. The different sections in the 3 volumes tell the stories of those who were captured, interrogated, imprisoned, exiled, and imprisoned by soviet authorities for over 40 years. Soljenitsyn's work blends a historical perspective with excerpts from his own memoirs and detailed accounts of his fellow prisoners who perished under persecution. Immediately after the publication of the first volume, soljenitsyn was attacked by the soviet press. Despite the intense interest in those who came to the west, soljenitsyn was arrested on february 12, 1974, and accused of treason. The next day, he was expelled from the soviet union.
