Everest Yayınları Çorak Ülke (Hardcover-100Th Anniversary Special Edition) T. S. Eliot

Product description

Barren land for the first time in october 1922, t.

s.

eliot's ii.

published in the criterion, a magazine he founded, until the eve of world war ii (1939). This "operatic" work was a shocking response to the barbaric war that consumed all hope for human ideals, and to the moral decay fueled by nihilism that had taken root in the very core of the society fermenting in the post-war era.

Even 100 years after it was written, this poem, which retains the power to finish off the lilacs from the barren soil of the word, is reawakening in turkish as a bilingual with special edition including extensive translator's notes: which roots cling and grasp it, which branches give wings to this pile of rubble? Hey humanity, you can't say this, you can't predict it, because all you know is a pile of shattered images, scorched by the sun, there is neither a dead tree canopy nor a cricket's consolation nor does the dry stone give the sound of water.

onlyunder the shadow of this red rock,(come take shelter in the shadow of this red rock),i will show you something completely different, from the shadow that makes you shiver in the morningsor stands to greet you in the evening

i will show you fear in a handful of dust.
