Product description

We can also call tummy time “time for activities while lying on your stomach.” With this activity, babies are placed face down on their stomachs. In this way, the baby exercises its muscles by trying to move around by crawling or by attempting to crawl. Babies start walking around the age of one. During this process, they learn some motor skills. When it comes to developing motor skills such as rolling over, sitting with support, sitting without support, crawling, and standing up, placing the baby on its stomach and allowing its muscles to develop is very beneficial. Babies who spend a lot of time lying on their stomachs develop these skills more easily. It helps the muscles in the shoulders, legs, abdomen, back, and neck to function properly.

body stability and head control. It develops motor skills such as crawling, turning, and grasping. It accelerates the crawling process, which is the path to learning to walk. Because the baby doesn’t lie on its back all the time, the risk of its head developing a flattened shape is reduced. Here are some positions that can be used for tummy time: tummy-to-tummy: the baby is placed on the mother’s stomach and supported from the sides.

eye level: the baby lies on its stomach on the floor, and the mother lies facing it in the same position.

in the lap: the baby is placed in a position where it can burp, similar to how it would be positioned on the mother’s lap.

carrying the baby on the mother’s back: one of the mother’s arms is placed around the baby’s legs, and the mother supports the baby with her arm, holding them by the shoulders and head. Supported method: the baby, lying on its stomach, is supported by having a towel rolled up and placed under its arms. While specific exercises for babies can improve their physical health, it is important to find the right time to start them.

however, this does not apply to abdominal exercises. You can start this activity even when your baby is just 2 weeks old. Of course, you need to know the answer to the question, “how do you do tummy time?” and what you need to pay attention to. When your baby is 2 weeks old, start with short activity sessions lasting between 30 seconds and a minute. Try to place your newborn baby’s tummy against your chest or lap. This way, you can help it get used to this position on a soft surface, under your control. After the month, you can practice this activity in three sessions, each lasting 5 minutes. In about 4 months, your baby will be strong enough to roll over from their stomach to their back. You can extend the duration to 15 minutes for this. During the 5-6 month period, you can observe that it can easily turn around using its belly and use its arms. From this point on, he can stand on his belly as much as he wants. Therefore, it is best to leave the decision up to him.

you just need to encourage them. You can schedule specific times of the day for tummy time, which will help your baby develop the muscles they need to use, as they will need your support to exercise the muscles they don’t use while lying on their back.
