Erdem Yayınları Deryadaki Ateş - Barbaros Hayreddin

Product description

From his pirate days on the Maghreb coast, Barbarossa Hayreddin Pasha attracted attention with his successes in the Mediterranean

many sailors from different nations came to Algiers and joined him, thus creating almost a small navy under Barbarossa's command

perhaps the greatest characteristic of Barbarossa Hayreddin Pasha was that he and his brother Oruç Reis had a political vision for North Africa. From the very beginning of their arrival on the shores of the Maghreb, the Barbaros brothers were not only engaged in pirate raids and plundering, but also, with their own efforts and intelligence, they created a state in Algiers and engaged in the struggle and jihad against the Spaniards.

The Ottoman Empire's policy in the Western Mediterranean and North Africa was largely shaped by this political vision of Barbarossa Hayreddin Pasha.
